MEASURE 12. Number of communities involved in domestic animals’ health projects
ISSUE
Improving human livelihoods and reducing pressure of wildlife from subsistence hunting through domestic animal management & ecosystem health
DEFINITION
For this measure all community domestic animal management initiatives are included including those at an early phase with only targeted research with intent to manage a resource. Here the unit of measure is the community, which we define in the classic sense of village or population center. A given community project may involve several communities and all would count towards this measure.
RESULTS
Cumulative results for the 2005 to 2015 period are exclusively from Bolivia and indicate WCS has supported 41 projects across that period.
