Abstract
This report describes the current situation and recent changes in human populations and land use in the proposed Seima Conservation Landscape, an area that contains the existing Seima Biodiversity Conservation Area (SBCA). The population data were mainly collected during a survey from August 2004-February 2005. Data collected included settlement location, size, ethnicity, recent immigration and principal livelihoods. The land use data are based on visual interpretation of ASTER satellite images from February 2001 and December 2004, together with extensive ground-truthing
