Title
The History of the Tahuayo Basin Told by its Inhabitants
Author(s)
Alberto Chirif
Published
2012
Abstract
This book is an original narration of the history of what is today known as the Regional Communal Conservation Area of Tamshiyacu Tahuayo - ACRCTT. It is, without a doubt, a perfect reflection of the types of stories that characterize the Western Amazon, highlighting quotes from the inhabitants themselves. Chirif tells a brief, but excellent tale of the history of the peoples who lived in these lands, particularly of the Matsés, and gives an introduction to the socioeconomic processes that define the recent history of the Tahuayo.
