Abstract
Wood bison abundance in Wood Buffalo National Park declined from over 10 000 bison in the late 1960s to 2200 in the late 1990s. This study examines the role of bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis in this decline to assess the frequently underestimated effects of low-mortality chronic infectious diseases on wildlife demographics.
