Abstract
Leopards (Panthera pardus) have the widest distribution of large felids, and consequently consume a wide range of prey. Distinct populations of leopards extend from Africa across southern Asia and into northern China. Asiatic leopards (Panthera pardus fusea) coincide with giant pandas and red pandas in the mountainous region along the eastern escarpment of the Tibetan plateau. This study observes the diets of the P.p. fusea population in the Wolong Reserve from 1984 to 1987 to monitor predation on giant and red pandas and to assess the food habits of leopards.
