Title
Large carnivorous animals as tools for conserving biodiversity - assumptions and uncertainties
Author(s)
Ray, J.C.
Published
2005
Abstract
This chapter addresses the assumptions and risks of using large carnivores as tools for conserving biodiversity as part of the background in “Large Carnivores and the Conservation of Biodiversity”. Overall, this book considers a key question in environmental conservation: Is the conservation of large carnivores in ecosystems that evolved with their presence equivalent to the conservation of biological diversity within those systems?
