Abstract
Land degradation continues expanding worldwide, affecting billions of people around the world. Improving the living conditions of affected populations is at the core of the UNCCD 2018-2030 Strategic Framework. Land degradation can impact populations in multiple forms, as it constrains the intertemporal supply of vital ecosystem services for human wellbeing, including the provision of food, energy, water, carbon sequestration capacity and biodiversity.
