Abstract
Recent declines in the distribution of Fishers (Martes pennanti) in their distribution have prompted concern for their conservation, particularly in the western USA. With relatively little known about the patterns of population structure and demography of fishers in this region this study examined microsatellite loci from a population in the Kings River region of the Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, in order to better understand the ecology of this species
