The Ecoregional Approach to Identifying Afghanistan's Protected Area Network

Abstract
Ensuring that representatives of ecologically-distinct areas are protected is one of the key elements in designing Afghanistan's future network of protected areas. This report was written to help inform this process as part of the National Protected Area System Plan for Afghanistan. Recommendations for protected area coverage and locations are listed, assisting Afghanistan in achieving Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) targets.
