Abstract
At approximately 07h00 on 12 February 2016, I noticed a large flock of 30–40 White-shouldered Starlings Sturnia sinensis feeding and resting in fig trees Ficus sp. in a public park close to Wat Botum , Phnom Penh, Cambodia (11.558 deg. N, 104.932 deg. E). Starlings are infrequently recorded in Phnom Penh and any flock provides an opportunity to search for unusual species; these birds moved quickly between five widely-spaced fruiting trees, making it difficult to obtain good views. After about 30 minutes observation, I found one or possibly two male Chestnut-cheeked Starlings Agropsar philippensis and although they were quickly lost from view, they were relocated resting together 40 minutes later, at which time three males were identified and images obtained.
