Abstract
Summary Sustainable fisheries must ultimately reduce poverty while maintaining ecosystem productivity. On coral reefs, managing for ‘concave’ trophic pyramids might be a win–win for people and ecosystems, by providing higher-value fisheries and maintaining important ecological functions.
