Abstract
Photocaptures of 46 days generated by Wildlife Conservation Society in 25 trap stations in Biotope Protegido Dos Lagunas,Peten,Guatemala, were analyzed. The results were 11 females and 6 males. The abundance and density were determined using the software SPACECAP runned in the softwore R. The abundance was 32.91 ± 7.63 (SD) ocelots and density was 10.83 ocelots/100 km2 ± 1.4 (SD) in on area of 3,894.45 ha. The ocelots showed a nocturnal bimodal pattern of activity with peaks between 20:00-22:00 and 00:00-02:00. The ocelots are somewhat easy to study using camera traps. This study constitutes a good model to study Neotropical feline populations because they are criptic and very difficult to study in wildlife.
