MEASURE 6. Number of wildlife disease records

ISSUE

Knowledge regarding wildlife diseases in the Amazon, and the capacity to assess/identify them.

DEFINITION

Limited to diseases for which there is currently a diagnostic capacity in country.

RESULTS

Cumulative results for the number of disease positives (with repetition of wildlife species) revealed 2,222 disease records to date. Records to date come from Bolivia (76%), Peru (23%), Colombia (0.9%) and Brazil (0.04%), but results do not yet include domestic animal diseases sampled in the period, which will eventually increase this dataset.
