Abstract
This second convening on Conservation and Human Rights brought together stakeholders from local communities, Indigenous Peoples, funding organizations, and the conservation and human rights sectors. It explored several topics for broad alignment between conservation organizations, Indigenous Peoples, and local communities’ visions of nature. It also introduced new topics for discussion amongst the stakeholder group on environmental peacebuilding, food security, and caste and nature. Conversations within the group took place at the intersections of science, human rights, policy making, and governance. Participants noted that a shared agenda is not only possible between Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and conservation organizations but also necessary given what our planet is confronting.
